Tell them that you and your employer mutually agreed that your skills would be useful elsewhere. That is what I had to tell an interviewer recently and it worked out just fine.
Or you can say that you and the employer misunderstood your skills and that your skills did not adequately meet the terms and conditions of the job.

This is a hard questiona that I had to answer recently. On the App I marked Yes,and wil explain in interview , because I did not want to lie and jeopardize me getting hired. In the interview I said, unfortunately I was let go from my last employer, I learned alot while there and one important thing was this was not something I could see myself doing in 5 or 10 years. After speaking with HR and management seperation of employment was decided. Since then I have been pursuing my career by education and training in the communications field, wich has brought me here today.
I know its alittle long. I felt the need to explain situation and I wanteed to let them, know that I wasnted to pursue my career within there company . the interviewr was really cool about it and told me they related to that. I ended up getting job!!
