Though the question may seemingly be about ‘you’, do not be fooled. This is an opportunity to show them what you can do for them, not what they can do for you! Use this question as a tool to show your genuine interest in the company, its direction, and its role in the industry. Demonstrate how your experience and qualification fits into the company’s needs.

I know that for retail stores (where you receive an employee discount), they love it when you answer that you are a regular customer of the store. I’m pretty sure they like this because your paycheck ends up going back to them, but regardless, they look for applicants who have a familiarity of the store as a customer so that when it comes to customer-service, you’ll know exactly what to offer!

One time, I had an interview at a high-end clothing boutique where they had asked me the same question. I answered with the above answer, that “I really appreciate the detail in the clothing, the exclusiveness and the name-brand quality…etc. As a frequent customer, (boutique name) has always had impeccable customer service... etc.” And then they asked me what my favorite piece of clothing was!

Since I fibbed about being a “regular customer”, I panicked for a moment and then mentioned this stylish cardigan with marled knit fabric that I had noticed on the mannequin prior to the interview. My interviewer exclaimed that it was from their fall line that had just come out and that I held great style. This was one of those moments that I was glad to have arrived early to feel out the environment.

Offer a not-so-cookie cutter answer that delves into a more personal connection, how you wish to offer them your skills and respectively, how the company will benefit from your involvement.

Remember, every interview question is an open opportunity to turn it into a self-sales pitch. You are selling yourself, not through flattery but through your own credentials, merits, and accords.

Aside for the company treat their employees in terms of benefits, it is a great opportunities that seeing yourself in this industry. But the main objective that i like to work in the company because i believe that i can spent this interpersonal skills and quality working traits that i developed during my previous and recent internships, after a months time i could say that i'm definitely an asset in the company and always ready to provide customers service satisfaction, exceed their expectations and recommend other clients to the company.
